The foundry was established in 1961 and is fully equipped with efficient production facilities. Its highly skilled workforce of foundry craftsmen ensure that all castings are produced to the highest quality standards.
Melting is carried out in mains frequency electric induction furnaces enabling the manufacture of castings in a wide range of materials, including:
- Grey Iron
- Spheroidal Graphite (SG) Iron
- White Iron
- High Chromium White Iron
- Manganese Steel
The weight range of castings produced in the foundry extends to 500 kilograms.
A combination of conventional and air set moulding is used to ensure high quality castings and, with our flexibility, the numbers we are able to manufacture range from single items to batch quantities.
Quality control is maintained throughout the production process, from analysis to final inspection, ensuring that the castings meet the high standards demanded by our customers. The use of electric induction furnaces allows Atritor to maintain precise control over the process.
Parts are produced for numerous industries, one of our specialities being the manufacture of abrasion-resistant components.
The close proximity of Atritor to the heart of the motorway network means that every part of the country is within easy reach.
