The 'Atritor Cell Mill' is a multi-rotor, vertical shaft mill for the production of very fine powders, utilising a combination of impact, shear and attrition forces.
It is also an efficient dryer with inlet temperatures as high as 400°C and it can dry high solids slurries without the need for backmixing.
It is modular in construction and can be easily tailored to the individual, specific needs of the project. An independently driven dynamic classifier can be fitted to the mill for improved control of product top-size. A surfactant injection system enables the surface chemistry of products to be modified.

The 'Atritor Dynamic Classifier Mill' is a high speed grinding mill with an integral, independently driven, dynamic classifier producing narrow size distributions. The feed material
is first classified to extract in-specification material before the oversize returns to the milling section.

The 'Atritor Micronising Mill' is a classical spiral jet microniser, also commonly known as a pancake microniser. Compressed air jets accelerate the material into inter-particulate collisions and classify the product internally. The production of sub 1 micron particles is possible. Materials of construction to suit most applications are available, including FDA quality.

Ultra Fine Grinding

The 'Atritor Opposed Jet Mill' is a fluid energy mill that uniquely introduces the feed material into a high pressure gas stream before two opposed flows collide, each at near sonic velocity, for maximum grinding efficiency. The product size is
controlled by an independent dynamic classifier, with oversize being returned to the inlet feed system. The mean particle size of the product is typically below 2 microns.

Pharmill Technology Ltd.
Pharmill Technology Ltd. Is a joint venture company of Atritor Ltd & PMT Jetmill GmbH. Together we have developed a new concept in Pharmaceutical micronising, the Pharmill CSJ 1-2-3, a spiral jet mill with internal classifier wheel.

A unique feature is that 1, 2 or 3 classifier wheel modules can be mounted in the same mill
body doubling the mill capacity factor each time. With 1 classifier wheel module it will produce typically 4kg/h, suitable for R&D work, with 2 classifier wheel modules 8kg/h suitable for pilot scale work and with 3 modules 16kg/h, ideal for small scale production.
The Pharmill is now available for customer trials.
Tests on lactose achieved a: d97 - 6µm, d50 - 1.28µm, d10 - 0.64µm.
